How to win
To win a Numbrail™ board, collect 61 points. Numbrail™ is a 5x5 board with 25 numbers from one to nine. The game alternate between two players. For each play, a player will select one open cell, up to 12. The last cell will be shared evenly between the two players.NOTE: The game ends once a player has 61 points.
Numbrail has types of cells
- Corner cells
- Border cells
- Inner cells
Corner cells - the corner cells are the four cells with only two neighbors on the board. They are always open at the beginning of a game.
Border cells - the border cells are cells with only three (or fewer) neighbors on the board. They are open whenever a neighboring border cell next to it is selected.
Inner cells - the inner cells have four neighbors. An inner cell is open whenever two adjacent neighbors forming a 90 degree angle are selected. An inner cell will NOT open if only two parallel neighbors are selected.
Numbrail™ is all about sharing. The last cell is shared evenly between the two players. When the last cell is an even number both players get half. When the last cell is an odd number, the first player will get the floored value as courtesy to the second player. For example, if the last cell to divide is 3, the first player will get 1, and the second player will get 2.
A new Numbrail™ challenge is available everyday. A player will play against the Numbrail™ AI and attempt to collect 61 points. Each user has one free try to complete the challenge. For each addional try, the user will need one Numbrail™ token.
Play with friends
A Numbrailer can play with some a friend. Everyday each person can host five free games. The number resets everyday. To host additional game, a Numbrailer will need one Numbrail™ token.
We will consider making an unlimited mode if there is enough interest.
On Saturdays, Numbrailers can enjoy unlimited undos, hints & plays with friends without needing a token.
